FlightScore / SkyView — iOS, Android, and Web App

This Privacy Policy describes how FlightScore / SkyView ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile and web application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data-protection laws.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Account & Identity Data

Email address and password (if using email/password sign-in)
Display name and profile avatar (optional)
User ID (UUID assigned at account creation)
OAuth profile data from Google or Apple (if you choose those sign-in methods)

1.2 Pilot Profile & Logbook Data

Pilot certificate information, ratings, and endorsements
Logbook entries: flight dates, aircraft, N-numbers, flight hours, landing counts, approach types, and instructor sign-offs
Personal minimums: ceiling/visibility limits, wind/crosswind limits

1.3 Flight Planning & Navigation Data

Trips: departure and arrival airports, waypoints, aircraft type, flight date/time, flight rules (VFR/IFR), remarks
Custom waypoints (latitude, longitude, elevation)
NavLog data: filed routes, alternate airports, persons on board, fuel calculations
Aircraft hangar: aircraft models, registration numbers, performance specs, weight & balance data

1.4 Notes, Documents & Checklists

Scratch pad content (text notes and ink annotations)
User-uploaded PDF documents (flight manuals, checklists, etc.)
Custom aircraft checklists and completion states

1.5 Location Data

With your permission, we access your device's precise GPS location to find nearby airports and provide local weather briefings. Location is used only while the app is in the foreground and is never shared with third parties for advertising or profiling. You may deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.

1.6 Microphone & Speech Data

With your permission, we access your microphone and the system speech-recognition service solely to let you speak ICAO airport codes instead of typing them. Audio is processed on-device by the operating system; we do not store or transmit raw audio.

1.7 Usage & Diagnostics Data

Crash reports, error logs, and performance traces collected by Sentry (see Section 3)
Session-replay snapshots on error (all text masked; all media blocked)
App settings stored locally: recent routes, night-dimmer state, tooltip history

1.8 Subscription & Purchase Data

Subscription status and purchase metadata are managed by RevenueCat and the relevant platform store (App Store, Google Play, or Stripe for web). We do not receive or store your payment card details.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for behavioral advertising.

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We require any service provider that processes personal data on our behalf to do so only on our instructions and to maintain appropriate security measures.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and flight data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account), which permanently and irreversibly removes all of your data from our servers. Anonymized crash logs retained by Sentry are subject to Sentry's own retention policy.

5. Children's Privacy

FlightScore / SkyView is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age threshold applies). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. Our database uses row-level security (RLS) so that each user can access only their own records. We do not store payment card details. Despite these safeguards, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data (available in-app)
Restrict or object to certain processing
Data portability (export your trips, logbook, and aircraft data in JSON, CSV, or GPX formats directly from the app)
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent (e.g., location, microphone)

To exercise any right not available directly in the app, contact us at the address in Section 9.

8. International Transfers

Your data is stored and processed in data centers operated by Supabase and Vercel, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
